Whenever a neighbor or family member asks me for advice on an eye issue, I don't hesitate to help them. So many people struggle with understanding their symptoms, or fully digesting the information shared with them by the eye doctor, that it seems incumbent upon me to help them on their journey of understanding. I know that most Optometrists feel the same way.
This story is about offering some eye care advice in an FedEx store. Not only did I get the opportunity to help someone, but there was a genuine equal opportunity for me to learn from that same person about the power of positive customer interaction.
I hope this Story will help you think about how to incrementally "step up your game" while also reminding you how valuable your ocular insights can be to someone else.
